a good night at last...
Jul. 31st, 2003 04:18 pmEnd-of-program party was a blast last night. Went to a weird little bar/club thingie near the Bad-Godesberg Hauptbahnhof (that's central train station for you non-German speakers) that was so cool I don't understand why I wasn't introduced to it earlier. The music was good, the alcohol was not too expensive...
... Typical last-night-on-earth craziness, even from the people who are going to be staying in the program for another month or more. What is it about the end of things that brings out the wildest (and bravest) in people? They behave the way they normally only would when drunk when they're sober. Put a little alcohol in them and get them on the dance floor, and literally anything can happen.
Feeling pretty good today, and thankfully left myself plenty of time to get packed up at a leisurely pace. I leave for Hamburg early tomorrow, and will end up in Weimar on Sunday in time to start a brand new program. Its going to be great, if I have to make it that way with force of will alone.
As a totally unrelated side note, German TV is really great. The subtitled shows are pretty much the same (the Osbournes, Jackass) but the stuff I've seen that's dubbed is just hysterically funny. The list includes: Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Pokemon, Friends, Will & Grace, etc. The winner by a long shot however is MTV's Undressed, which only gets more porn-like with German dialogue.
