this zombie meme thing (there's a world's worth of work and a need for you)

[livejournal.com profile] sweetafton23 and [livejournal.com profile] miss_cris did it first.

You are in a mall when the zombies attack. You have:

  1. one weapon.

  2. one song blasting on the speakers.

  3. one famous person to fight alongside you.

* Weapon can be real or fictional; you may assume endless ammo if applicable. Person can be real or fictional.

Impulse decisions, go!

  1. A nagamaki

  2. "No World For Tomorrow" by Coheed & Cambria

  3. Faith

why are you bringing a pig sticker to the apocolyse? certainly, you'd want a blade as a back up, in case that gun you should be carrying doesn't work and you're forced to engage in more intimate combat, but ideally you don't want the zombies to get close enough to you to infect you thus weapons like guns (or phasers) are a better idea.

faith is a very good choice. she is very badass.

The meme said "one weapon" and I assumed it meant "and only one weapon". By that logic I'd rather have a close-combat weapon than a ranged one. If it's a prolonged fight, and I presume it would have to be, then sooner or later I'm going to be in close quarters with my enemy. And when that happens, I personally would rather have a good sharp slashing weapon than an uzi or a flamethrower.

this is true.

hm, the clear answer to this dilemma is a bayonette.

You may be onto something there. Although so long as we're talking about it, I do disagree with your characterization of a nagamaki as a "pig sticker". It's longer than some claymores. It's long enough to be counted as a pole weapon, and to be a realistic weapon to use against a mounted opponent. It's not a knife.

i read the wikipedia page on the nagamaki. it's a damn cool weapon, but i was calling it a pig sticker because i think it's silly to bring a blade to a gun fight. you explained your reasons though.
