Blargh I miss the internet.
May. 10th, 2004 01:08 pmI still have essentially no idea when I will have regular internet access again. I oscillate between feeling like I've learned to live without it and being massively frustrated at the ways in which not being online hampers my life. Argh.
Saw Van Helsing on Friday. I really enjoyed it, despite what everyone else seems to have said about it. It delivered exactly what it said it would -- a lot of very over-the-top monster movie action, really pretty CGI and melodrama so thick you could use it as a doorstop. All of that combined to make me happy, particularly with the portrayal of the vampires, who were so excellently done to type that I was just in love. Transylvanian vampires should hiss and scream and have their jaws distend constantly, in my opinion.
Other than that life is... blah. I would say good, 'cos its been good, but the little things are getting me down. Jon didn't get that job he was hoping for out here (sad!). I still haven't made any appreciable progress in my own job search. The amount of work I'm going to have to do at the end of this quarter is depressing. And I had something that could probably be technically classified as a fight with Sam yesterday. Harsh words were exchanged and now I have a heavy heart and a melancholy vibe that its hard to shake.
I am walking out in the rain, and I am listening to the low moan of the dial tone again. And I am getting nowhere with you, and I can't let it go and I can't get through...
I know this too shall pass.
Anyway, at least I have Mage tonight. That game continues to be interesting and often inspiring. And once the internet comes back I'll have like three episodes of Angel to download and catch up on, not to mention Red vs. Blue. These are the things I have to look forward to.
