So anyone who wants to see me really spaz out in an embarassing way needs only to get me talking about exotic species about which I am in any way knowledgeable. Ask me for fun facts about, say the Philippine Monkey-Eating Eagle and I turn into the voice of Animal Planet. I am deeply intrigued by the strange and funky things that nature does and flabbergasted that other people do not find it as interesting as I do. I am equally confused that there can exist animals in this world like, say, the okapi, and yet their existence is not especially common knowledge and very few people seem to care.

I've also got quite an interest in hybrids. I liked ligers and tigons before I saw Napoleon Dynamite, although I must admit I was quite buzzed when they were referenced (well, at least ligers were.) But today on the radio I randomly discovered the existence of something that just utterly blew my mind. Bare all of these facts in mind when I get all giddy and make the following declaration.

I say unto you: HOLY WOLHPIN, BATMAN!

They're an offspring of the Atlantic bottlenose dolphin and the false killer whale. Not only that, but they are apparently a viable offspring, because it was recently announced that a wolphin which is only one-quarter whale was born in captivity.
