some days I feel like crying
Jun. 17th, 2005 01:08 amI am a crushingly stupid person.
I have a Public Storage space in Chicago. In this storage space are all sorts of things I care about: hundreds of dollars worth of books and DVDs, some irreplaceable photos, my printer, a lucite desk... you get the picture. I have to log into an online account at the start of each month and pay to continue to rent said space. I have until the 10th before they stick me with a late fee. Sometime after that they go to my space with bolt cutters, and they cut my lock and they put my stuff up for auction, and what they can't sell they throw away. Somehow I managed to let it slip through my fingers this month. I paid tonight, which means the payment will post tomorrow morning, fully a week after they stick me with the late fee. I don't remember precisely, but I have an uncomfortable certainty in the pit of my stomach that tomorrow morning is too late.
Fuck.
