waiting for the month of come what may
Dec. 13th, 2005 01:38 pmThanks are due to
thablueguy,
war_pug and
dippy423. Whether or not it was their intention, they cheered me immensely yesterday. Last night I went and ate
thablueguy's Japanese-style cooking at
war_pug and
dippy423's apartment in Somerville. We didn't really do anything, not actively, unless hanging out counts as an activity. But it was apparently exactly what I needed, for it warmed my heart and returned me to a semblance of my good humor. It occurred to me, as I stood in the cold holding a flashlight for
thablueguy while he changed a flat tire on his giant boat of a car, that some fairly strange things make me happy.
Today marked the last GL training class of my training program here at Liberty Mutual. I was really looking forward to a bit of a breather after this. I think all of my fellow trainess felt that same anticipation. There was a sense that the office was going to be exceedingly busy leading up to the new year, and we would be left somewhat to our own devices to assimilate our recent instruction. Apparently that was wishful thinking, however. We were assigned a block of work at the end of class, and given a new set of deadlines; if anything the pace of work is going to be increasing. On the one hand I suppose I should have expected this (this is, after all, real life at a real job.) But on the other hand its kind of crappy how they keep pushing the goal line back on us. The whole business leaves me feeling a little weary, but oh well. I'm sure I'll get through it, one step at a time.
