So lately every time I go to compose a livejournal entry I end up starting with something like "I don't know where to begin." I make it maybe two paragraphs in and then delete the whole thing in disgust. So this time I have picked a place to begin, and I'm happy with it, and maybe I'll be passably satisfied with the entry that follows. Let me just say, first and foremost:

Congratulations [livejournal.com profile] theshanakee & Yuko.

This past weekend I attended a celebration of the wedding of a good friend of mine from high school. The actual wedding, a traditional shinto ceremony, took place in Japan some time in the recent past. Everything was beautiful and perfect, and I couldn't be happier for the two of them. In attendance were a number of my friends and teachers from high school, including [livejournal.com profile] sleetfall and [livejournal.com profile] lady_eleret (who caught the boquet.)

There was some drinking done after the event itself, and I was introduced to my new favorite alco-pop, Peels. They're 5% alcohol by volume lightly carbonated fruit juice mixes. For those who prefer their drinks girly I highly recommend checking them out. Of the four varieties the Strawberry-Passion Fruit is definitely my favorite, although the Blueberry-Pomegranate was also quite good, and I have every reason to expect the Cranberry-Peach and Pear-Lemon are also enjoyable.

Things are OK with me, although they remain more chaotic than I'm particularly good at coping with. High on the list are the fact that I'm moving into a new apartment in Somerville (where [livejournal.com profile] war_pug and Pete live now), and my maternal grandmother is once again in the hospital with a lousy prognosis.

I guess this post turned out OK. More later.
