anachronistic and impulsive
Mar. 24th, 2005 02:14 pmSo I am officially one year older and now several gifts richer. In addition to the brain-scarring gifts provided by
syganzychick I also received:
sleetfall and my sister Sarah.) So I should get an e-mail from them soon detailing which of the three week training sessions I've been assigned to, all of which begin in early April. I'll be crashing with
sleetfall while I get everything else squared away, but this is definitely forward motion. Its part-time employment in at least the general area of teaching, so I can get a feel for it, and it gets me the hell out of Connecticut. So I'm psyched about that.
Oh and my baby sister got home from Paraguay today, where she apparently had a fabulous time. But its so nice to have her back, the house felt weird without her.
- A card and a check from my grandfather, which is hellishly impressive when you consider that his wife had a stroke recently and things have been hectic and confusing lately.
- A copy of the Immortal Eyes trilogy by Jackie Cassada (the rare and hard to find fiction, not the ubiquitous and relatively worthless linked sourcebooks.) These were acquired for me by Dave A, who is definitely my hero for finding them. For the uninitiated the volumes are the Toybox, Shadows On the Hill, and Court of All Kings.
- An Altec-Lansing inMotion iM3 courtesy of my sisters and brother-in-law. This is basically one of the niftiest iPod toys on the market, a direct-interface portable speaker set that's very nice and very sleek. It can either plug into a wall or operate on 4 AA batteries, and I am in love with it.
