just call me shameless
May. 5th, 2003 03:55 pmSo for various reasons it's been a while since I've updated this here journal. But I'm through all that now, and will do my best to catch myself up to present date.
Leadership Advisory Board was a nine-hour waste of my time this Sunday. I really loathe ASG sometimes, they're tapdancing for themselves, and it's alright except when they accidentally manage to mire the process of students and student groups actually going out and doing what they do in their bullshit. ASG is ultimately a low-power meaningless organization that can affect minor changes -- people are in it because it will look good on their resume, which means that they occasionally spawn things like LAB which look really good on a resume and involve a lot of planning and networking but are actually just a colossal waste of time.
My romantic life is back on it's feet, so to speak. I'm dating Samantha Nelson. Don't know what else to say about that. She's very small, and she makes me smile. Further information as events warrant, I suppose.
Dead City Productions went quite well this Saturday. We only have one game left, and the trouble is that we can't seem to find any time in the next month when all of the STs and most of the game could actually make it. It's looking like we might move it to a Friday night, or possibly just have to get by without a handful of our favorite players. Rough, I know, but sometimes scheduling is just crazy.
Music is a good thing. I'm really into the Brand New album (brand new is a band name, not a descriptor, the album is called Your Favorite Weapon.) I don't know why I didn't start listening to it earlier. I'm looking forward to a new offering from Lucky Boys Confusion this summer. And I'm currently enjoying sr-71's Tomorrow, and John Mayer's Room for Squares (much as some people seem to think I should be ashamed of liking it.) Guster's Lost & Gone Forever is also experiencing a bit of a renaissance on my playlist.
Movies are also good. X-2 rocked so hard that the English language is inadequate at describing how much I enjoyed it. And I'm super psyched for Matrix: Reloaded. Who cares what anyone else says? Who cares that it will by definition not be as good as the original? It looks great.
Oh... and I'm still going to Germany this summer. Bonn and Weimar. I'm psyched and terrified all at once. Just another reason I'm trying to stretch this spring out. Y'know? Oh, and if anyone knows anyone who needs a summer sublet in the Evanston area, let me know.
