I hate when I go this long between updates. Its so hard to piece together what's happened and play catch-up.

Saw Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind around when I first got back to Evanston. I, of course, loved it. Jim Carey was excellent and Kate Winslet gave a superior performance. Of course, I still think Adaptation is the best Kaufman film, but that's just my opinion.

Then, obviously, I saw Hellboy the day it came out. I more or less agree with the crowd on this one. It was highly entertaining and well worth the price of the ticket. Ron Perlman was of course amazing, and I was surprised and pleased by Selma Blair - though my undying love of her blue liquid-y living flame might have something to do with that. Its maybe not a great film, but its definitely a good movie.

Hellboy I saw last weekend, during Jon's visit. Jon's visit was amazing. We partied all day and we partied all night, and he met all of my friends, and a good time was had by all. The only thing that could have made it better was if we'd gotten some gaming in. Oh! And it turns out Rachel would also like to move into an apartment with us. So now it will be the three of us trying to play Chicago yuppie. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Sam, ridiculously, went home for her grandmother's 75th birthday that weekend. She missed Jon entirely (its OK, he should be back on the 21st for a job interview) and also missed out on all the fun. And then to make matters worse, there wasn't even a session of [livejournal.com profile] pax_malificus's Mage game this week. Suck.

I am, of course, kidding about Sam's return home being ridiculous. It was unfortunate, but it couldn't be helped and she has more than redeemed herself already. Oh, and Happy Anniversary to us! while I'm at it.

This past week flew by in that way time does sometimes. Thursday was Blueguy's opening as a senior art major at the Dittmar gallery. That went well and he was fairly well-received. His colleagues' work was also very interesting, although my favorite work by far was based off of some photos Blue took in the first place and sold to his classmate.

Friday I went to see the Trachtenburg Family Slideshow Players. Given how much I have been pimping this show over the past couple of weeks the attendance wasn't huge, but it was a good little crowd. We went to a bar called Schuba's (sp?) near the Belmont L-stop and stood. Sadly Jason (the father of the family) had lost his voice fairly seriously. He was a bit hard to hear and looked pretty pained during the show. But it was still a really great show and I bought a CD. The opener was also surprisingly good - some guy named Jeffrey Lewis - I was sad I didn't have more money to buy merch with.

Yesterday was Dead City Production's Easter Game. My triumphant and probably final return to Storytelling went modestly well - a good time seemed to have been had by most, and my fledgling ST staff amazed me by going the distance. They're gonna be an excellent crew next year and I hope I'm around to play. The game was personally exhausting however - particularly when we got six rounds deep into a really large mass combat and one of the players confessed he hadn't been keeping track of any of his traits or blood. Headaches I don't need.

Later today Rodrigo is running his Exalted mini-game. Before then I should really shower. Oof.
