I finally got around to seeing The Ladykillers tonight. Josh, Sam, Dana and I all went and caught it at the CineArts here in Evanston. We actually decided to go spontaneously after having gone to CPK for dinner, and ended up missing the early showing and having to kill two hours before going to the 10:20. But it was well worth the wait - I picked up Babylon 5: Season 4 in the interrim. Now I need only Season 5 to complete my collection.
Looking at the IMDB website, I'm absolutely baffled by the negative response to Ladykillers. Is the viewing public who posts on IMDB really so ignorant? It was a really excellent film! It was funny and entertaining and I would gladly see it a second time. The writing was great, the acting was superb... Tom Hanks probably won't win any sort of award for it, sadly, but he is really deserving. He steals the movie, which is hard, given that his co-stars are all at their peaks.
Oh well.
