enthusiastick: (bathroom fabric)
I apologize in advance if this update is a little scattered.

I've decided to extend my stay in Chicago, but only through Sunday morning. That's a compromise I can live with. Although it means I probably won't have time to run my Kludge game. I'm sorry [livejournal.com profile] rollick, it appears I have turned your apartment into an apartment of lies. Or at least an apartment of lie. Anyway.

I've been feeling a little out of it lately. I suppose it probably started on Wednesday night, when I was in a minor car accident. Around dinner time I left the Screenz internet cafe in search of food. While attempting to change lanes from the right lane to the left one, travelling Eastbound on Church street, my car was struck by another one. This produced a sizeable divot above my left front wheel well but no other noticeable damage. Still, the two of us had to exchange insurance information and then go to the EPD to fill out a police report. All that on an empty stomach.

The car's check engine light had come on a couple of days before that. I wasn't too worried about it, the car seems to be driving fine and I was planning on having its oil changed before I left the state anyway. Its my natural inclination to chalk the light up the sudden cold snap we had out here around then. I know I should probably have the car really checked out before driving it another 900 miles, but I'm incredibly wary of mechanics I don't know. Ugh.

As if all that crap wasn't enough, I still haven't made any progress on the job front. A number of plans percolate in my head; its recently been pointed out to me that I could probably get a job as a Kaplan tutor. That sounds like a moderately good idea, something to do for the spring and summer while working out how to get a teaching certification.

I'm seeing [livejournal.com profile] lady_eleret when I get back (she's on spring break), and I'm fairly psyched about that. And the week after I return to CT [livejournal.com profile] sleetfall has invited me to go skiing with him. I can't really afford it, but maybe I can convince my parents to make it a birthday present. I'm turning 23...
