So I have news: it looks like I'm going to be in Boston a bit longer than originally forecasted. This is not wholly surprinsg to me, nor am I completely clear how I feel about it. But to those of you operating outside my daily routine, I figured it was time to let you into the loop.

I began the training program I am currently in on August 1st, approximately a month behind the rest of my class. The program was in rather a lot of turmoil and upheaval; it was being redesigned concurrent with a major reorganization in our business unit. For a while no one knew whether the final curriculum would last 12 months, as it had before, or 9 months, or 6. But things have settled down since then, and they've fixed the date for our "graduation" to sometime in early-to-mid April, smack dab in the middle of everyone's expectations.

And then this past week I heard that I'll be staying in Boston through then. Which is not to say I'll be in Boston that whole time. They're going to ship me out for a couple weeks, probably at the start of February. That's time to look for an apartment and the like, and during that time I'll be working out of the Chicago office. But then I'll come back. And I'll be here. Through my birthday, and until early Spring.

Its worth noting that none of this is written in stone. Plans may yet change, and if they do, I suspect it would be to hasten my departure.

Still, as of now, it looks like I'll likely miss all but the tail end of DCP this year. But on the plus side I might make it to more PF events (although I'm already hopeful about going to the Winter event. More on that later.) Like I said, I'm not quite sure how I feel all about this yet. But I guess I can stop telling people I'll be gone sometime this Winter. Because apparently I won't, unless you count a two-week break.
