Since the response to my previous post wondering whether people would respond existed at all, I'm going forward with my plan. Feel free to steal the meme.

Please post a reply with a memory of an event or moment which I am present for (preferrably one I'm involved in) that you suspect I have forgotten (or never remembered in the first place.) Ideally the memory should mean something to you, as really this whole thing is an exercise to satisfy my curiosity about the subjectivity and relativity of memory in general. I will do my best to return the favor for anyone who responds.
N.B. -- To those of you all who might reply anonymously, perhaps because you don't have an LJ, please sign your posts.

Dude, of course I remember that class. Of course, at the time I was pretty psyched about the class, at least insofar as I found the material interesting and was a freshman who just found everything so unbelievably nifty. I do remember being really frustrated by the ignorance constantly spouted in those class "discussions," although I look back with shame on how often I raised my hand to contribute some inanity too. Oh, for the innocence of youth.

The way I remember it, you started talking to me. And I had no idea why the pretty girl sitting near me just struck up a conversation, nor why she was staring at me like that (I was, at the time, unaccustomed to the intensity that is Liz and was therefore very nervous. I didn't realize that you're, well, like that full time.) I do remember feeling too nervous to ever really start a conversation with you, and lamented the end of the class as I had no means to get in touch with you. Synchronicity.

That's actually the memory I have of you that may be fuzzy on your part: you coming back into my life that day in the Quad between NMQ and SMQ. You walked up to talk to Ben, if memory serves (who you knew from Japanese?) and then sort of noticed me as well and were like "hey, its you- that kid- Eben!" And we talked for a minute or two and you wandered off while Blueguy's mouth hung open and he stared blankly for a solid minute before demanding to know who you were.

Haha, you're right, that one is a little fuzzier. However I do, in fact, vaguely remember it, and I was more than a little shocked that Ben from Japanese and Eben from Linguistics were connected. Guess it really is a small world. But yeh, things just seemed to be working out in my favor at the end of my sophomore year. I got to realize my long-cherished dream (or would you call it a fantasy?) of dating a guy with blue hair, and I had an excuse to get to know and befriend you and Ben. Life was pretty damn good. ^__^
