Well, that was clearly too good to be true. The folks at Kaplan called me yesterday. As predicted they want me to do my training and primarily work out of the Waltham satelite office. Unexpectedly they told me yesterday they'd rather I not start training until the first week of May, because they won't really have work for me until then. Which is fine, but frustrating; things were shaping up nicely and now they've shifted and become significantly less ideal.
I got word about my car yesterday. I dropped it off because the Check Engine light had, infuriatingly, come back on some time after I returned from Chicago. Apparently the problem is a busted oxygen sensor that needs replacing. That's like a $240 part that had to be ordered from the dealer. All told the repair is predicted to cost me just shy of $500. Theoretically it will be fixed today and they'll call me sometime this afternoon to come pick it up. We'll see how that goes.
I'm out of touch over the next few days, driving to Cape Cod tonight. Saturday night is a big dinner with my brother-in-law's family as well as my own. And Sunday of course is Easter brunch with my grandparents. Don't worry,
syganzychick, I'm planning to be at your place in time for whatever we finally cook up.
