nothing hurts when I go to sleep

This morning when I powered up my desktop (my personal one in my apartment, not the one here at work) I got an error message from Norton that one of its drivers failed to initalize, leaving my computer without the auto-protect feature that more or less makes the software worth having. It advised me to restart my computer, which I did. But I got the same error message. So I tempted fate and quickly checked my e-mail, then powered down the computer and headed in to work. I'm sincerely hoping this is going to be one of those stupid computer things that resolves itself by the time I get home. I'm just not feeling up to wrestling with my aging machine; its been so good to me these past few years, and I just need it to limp along doing what it does (primarily browsing the internet) until I can buy a new one some time in the next couple years.
I'm weary to the bone and trying not to fall asleep at my desk. The reason for my weariness is two successive nights of too little sleep. At least last night it was a happy occasion that prevented me from getting to bed early.
thablueguy called me shortly before I got off work to let me know he was home in Sudbury for the holiday. So I drove out to visit with him. We hung out for a bit at his parents' house, then went in to Somerville to eat at Red Bones, then back to his house for more hanging out, then home to my place to collapse. A sensible person would point out that I travelled to and from the city not once but twice in the course of spending an evening with Mike, and I would tell them to shut up.
