soundtrack of my life
Jul. 29th, 2003 02:50 pmThis is a work in progress, which you may blame Abby for inadvertantly inspiring a couple weeks back.
Working title of the movie of my life: To Be Epic...
Opening Credits -- Less Than Jake - Help Save the Youth of America from Exploding
Waking Up Scene -- John Mayer - Love Song For No One
Average Day Scene -- Goldfinger - San Simeon
Best-Friend Scene -- Good Charlotte - Waldorf Worldwide
Flirt Scene -- Ani Difranco - Shameless
First Date Scene -- New Found Glory - Sucker
Falling-In-Love Scene -- Badly Drawn Boy - The Shining (What? It's sexy. Shut up!)
Love Scene -- The Get Up Kids - Close To Me
Fight With Friends Scene -- Brand New - Seventy Times 7
Break-Up Scene -- Dashboard Confessional - The Sharp Hint of New Tears (Or possibly The Good Fight as an alternative.)
Sadness-After-Breakup Scene -- Dispatch - Out Loud
Get-Back-Together Scene -- Billy Joel - You May Be Right
"Life's Okay" Scene -- Nine Days - End Up Alone
Heartbreak Scene -- Taking Back Sunday - Cute Without the 'E' (Cut From the Team)
Recovery Scene -- The Pillows - Little Busters
Mental Breakdown Scene -- Acumen Nation - Ventilator
Driving Scene -- Eve 6 - Open Road Song
Lesson-Learning Scene -- Paul Simon - Train In The Distance
Deep Thought Scene -- The Muppet Movie - I'm Going To Go Back There Some Day (The song Gonzo sings.)
Hanging Out With Friends Scene -- Ben Folds Five - Underground
Flashback Scene -- Simple Plan - One By One
Party Scene -- Lucky Boys Confusion - Atari (From the upcoming release Commitment. I've heard it live twice, and I have faith.)
Happy Dance Scene -- Gorillaz - 19-2000 (Soulchild Remix)
Regret Scene -- Blues Traveler - The Mountains Win Again
Long-Night-Alone Scene -- Guster - Two Points For Honesty
Death Scene -- Jump, Little Children - Cathedrals
Closing Credits -- sr-71 - non toxic (The original version, from Now You See Inside, not the crappy cover on Tomorrow.)
OK, so that was a massively self-indulgent exercise, I know. Moreoever, I labored over it far too much... hence why I see it as a work in progress, rather than simply being satisfied that its complete.
I'm thinking of splitting the list roughly in half and burning my life's soundtrack as a two disc set...
