dlobok for the curious, although his journal is quite private). sleetfall and I went to his reader gathering in Davis Square last night, and stood in line for not too long and got sketches. My streak of meeting webcomic peoples continues. This time I managed something approximating coherency -- I know for a fact I shook his hand and told him I enjoyed his work, so.
My sketch, incidentally, is of Jason, because after Davan he's probably my favorite character and I for some reason did not want to ask for a sketch of Davan. So instead I have one of Jason, looking incredulous and saying "You waited in line to see someone with a penis? Are you nuts?" I was practically giddy when it was first placed into my hands, and I'm still super pleased with it. I might have to get it framed, although I suppose I should theoretically scan it first, not that I have access to a scanner at the moment.
sleetfall made some comment about Randy not being at all what he expected. I had nearly the opposite experience; he looked just about as I always imagined he would, right down to the stubble. Physically he actually reminded me a bit of adampb. The resemblance is somewhere around the eyes, I think. And it was a genuine pleasure to watch him sketch, let me tell you. His hand moved smoothly, and he worked so fast it was startling. Sure, he'd been cranking the damn things out all night, but I was still impressed.
Further updates may be forthcoming tonight if I can muster the energy.
